The studio was formed October 1928, when the Keith-Albee-Orpheum Theater chain and the Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America combined.

Famous Movies:
King Kong, Citizen Kane, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Studio Today:
RKO studios ceased production in 1957 after years of failure under Howard Hughes. The company revived itself into a small independent film company in 1989 named RKO Pictures LLC.
